93% of opinions on Taylor Swift posted on social media in 2011 were positive, making her the most loved young celebrity on social media of the year, according to Amplicate. The pop singer just pipped rival musician Katy Perry to the crown. Perry had the same percentage of love but generated far fewer social media conversations than her younger counterpart.
Justin Bieber, despite the passion of the Beliebers, was the least loved young celebrity on social media in 2011, with 20% of opinions expressing distaste for the pint-sized pop star. Lady Gaga was the next most hated young celeb. 16% of opinions expressed joy at her fall in the music video of Paparazzi.
Mr Bieber remained the most talked about celebrity on social media in 2011. It was more the volume of negative opinions than the percentage of negative opinions that earned Bieber his least loved young celebrity crown.
Mark Zuckerberg, for instance, had a considerably lower percentage of positive opinions than Bieber on social media in 2011. 74% of opinions on the Facebook founder were negative, thanks to the hit movie The Social Network and bad press about Facebook’s privacy settings.
